Welcome to the Tips and Tricks section for Interview Monkey! Here, you'll find ways to optimize your experience with the tool and make the most of each coding and system design question.
1. Add Example Inputs & Outputs
If a question is unclear, create your own examples! Summarize the problem with a brief description and add 2-3 example inputs and outputs to clarify the expected functionality. This practice ensures the tool fully understands the question and helps you break down the requirements.
2. Adjust the Screen View
If the question doesn't fit on the screen, try adjusting your browser's zoom. Use "Control +" to zoom in and "Control -" to zoom out. Interview Monkey captures only the visible portion of your screen, so make sure everything you need is within view.
3. Configure for Multiple Monitors
Working with multiple monitors? You can select which monitor you want the solution to appear on. The solution popup positions itself at the top left of your chosen screen, with a height matching the monitor and a width of 800 pixels for optimal viewing.
4. Use Shortcuts to Run the Program
Utilize shortcuts to run the tool more efficiently:
- Control + Shift + 1 for coding questions
- Control + Shift + 2 for system design questions
To customize these shortcuts, go to chrome://extensions/shortcuts
and set up new key combinations. Please note: there's no feedback notification when using shortcuts, but wait 15-20 seconds, and the solution will appear.
