Tips and Tricks for Using Interview Monkey

Welcome to the tips and tricks section for Interview Monkey. There are several ways to make better use of the tool. Not all coding questions are asked in the same way, so we have put together some tips and tricks that could help you with your next question.

1. Add Example Inputs & Outputs

When you encounter a question, if the description or examples are not clear enough, try to come up with your own. Write a short description that summarizes the problem and make sure to add 2-3 inputs and outputs for the program to understand the question better. It's good practice to write down what you understood from the question anyway!

2. The Question Doesn't Fit the Whole Screen

Feel free to zoom out in your browser from settings or with the shortcuts: "Control +" to zoom in and "Control -" to zoom out. Remember, our tool only captures the portion you see on your screen.

3. Multiple Monitor Settings

If you have multiple monitors, you can choose the second one for the solution to pop up. Our solution screen always positions itself at the top left of the selected screen, with the height of the selected monitor and a width of 800 pixels.

4. Shortcuts to Run the Program

There are predefined shortcuts to run the program: Control + Shift + 1 for coding questions and Control + Shift + 2 for system design questions. If you want to change these to custom shortcuts, you can always go to chrome://extensions/shortcuts to set more convenient shortcuts for yourself. There won't be any notification feedback when a shortcut is used, but if you wait 15-20 seconds, you will see the solution popup.

5. How Does It Work?

If you want to see the program in action, please watch our 3-minute tutorial. It will help you understand how to use the program effectively. You can find the video here.
